The Project: Giffard Wind Farm

Overview:

  • The Giffard Wind Farm site is located within the designated Gippsland Renewable Energy Zone (GREZ).

  • New transmission infrastructure as part of the GREZ will be required to connect the project to existing transmission infrastructure in the Latrobe Valley.

The Giffard Wind Farm project will form a critical part of the National Electricity Market’s (NEM) energy future and enable significant employment and economic opportunities within the Gippsland and surrounding regions.

Octopus Investments Australia is also actively developing the Fulham Solar Farm and Battery project near Sale. Planning approval was secured in March 2022 and the project was awarded a supply contract by the Victorian Government under its Victorian Renewable Energy Target VRET2 reverse auction in October 2022.

Project planning activities are currently underway, including on-site surveys, ahead of expected construction commencement in 2024 pending the project achieving financial close
