Repowering Gippsland

The Giffard Wind Farm is a proposed large-scale onshore wind farm in Gippsland, Victoria.

The Giffard Wind Farm will form a critical part of Victoria’s energy future and support a thriving Gippsland economy and community.

The proposed project site is located on agricultural land south-east of Giffard West in Wellington Shire, with the project planned to co-exist with agricultural activities on the site.

Energy Future

The project will support the regions transition from coal powered energy generation to renewable energy and help to strengthen the Victorian electricity network.

Community Benefit

The project will provide significant benefit to the local region, including opportunities for local training and employment, local businesses and access to lower cost power for the commercial sector.

Local Ownership

The project is backed by Octopus Investments and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation who are committed to being the long term owner of the wind farm and ensuring economic and community benefits for the region.
